From birthdays and stag dos to corporate events, opening up your Escape Room to parties and larger group bookings can be a significant boost to your business.
As well as offering a fixed-price Escape Room experience for the party, you could also utilise a spare room as a ‘party room’ for guests to use afterwards, and even provide add-ons including food, drinks, decorations and music.
This offers a unique experience for guests and profitable addition to your business model.
But before you plan, remember the additional risks hosting parties may bring:
– Products: If you intend to serve food and drink, and it is not something your business already does, you’ll need to comply with local authorities regarding Health & Safety. Unless you ask the party bookers to provide their own consumables, you will also be liable for anything you serve, so make sure you have insurance to match.
– Alcohol: Businesses which want to sell or supply alcohol in England or Wales must have a licence or other authorisation from a licensing authority. If you want to serve booze, check with your local council to see what you need.
If you’ll be hosting large parties, you may well need to bolster your Escape Room insurance with one-off event insurance or increase indemnity limits if parties are a regular occurrence.
