The 15th of July saw us hold our 2nd company golf day at Morecambe Golf Club and in contrasting fortunes to last year’s downpour the sun was shining across the bay area.
The day commenced with the obligatory coffee and bacon roll followed by a go at the charity putting challenge that was set up for guests to try, with all proceeds raised on the day being split between St John’s Hospice and CancerCare.
After the first groups tee’d off at 12:00 pm some of our commercial team and friends from Close Premium Finance gathered around the halfway house to prepare to greet players passing through where pies, sandwiches and drinks were quickly handed out and just as quickly devoured.
Two thirds through the round groups were taking it in turn to have a go at the next charity challenge which was beat the pro at the Par 3 nearest the pin competition. Many thanks must go to Emma Cobley of Morecambe Golf Club for giving up her time to take part and she did such a great job that it cost us very few bottles of wine!
Following a quick, post-round drink on the balcony, guests were treated to an excellent 3-course meal in the clubhouse. The hospitality and quality of service afforded to our guests from Morecambe Golf Club and the catering, front of house and bar staff were excellent all day. After everyone had finished eating, the marathon prize giving session commenced with what seemed like almost everyone in the room at some point winning a prize.
The day finished with a charity raffle, that combined with the putting and beat the pro challenges helped raised over £1,200 for the two charities mentioned above. We would like to thank all our guests who attended for helping raise this amount and to Morecambe Golf Club and all the team, Morecambe Pro Shop and all our sponsors who helped make the day possible.
Special thanks to NIG, Towergate, FarmWeb, Kindertons, Broker Network, Tim Craig, Close Brothers Premium Finance and Auto Logistic Solutions Ltd.
