While this news entry should have been posted months ago, the motto ‘better late then never’ comes to mind.
Late April saw us hold our annual company event and this year it resulted in us swapping our golf clubs for shotguns. A couple of hours down the motorway led us to the West Midlands Shooting Ground near Market Drayton where we were greeted by a professional team of instructors on a sunny Spring day.
Following a quick bacon sandwich and the obligatory coffee, we split up into our teams to begin the day’s activities. After some exemplary tuition and below par shooting the teams gathered back to the lodge to tell their tales of woe about the clays that got away!
A quick coffee stop and we were back at it this time followed by slightly better shooting and a light rain shower just to make the shooting even harder than it already was.
After another round of food with a well earned (not really) pie and peas lunch the competition resumed. Another three stands later following a snow shower with the scores racking up we rounded the day off with the always fun 2 man flush pitting the best with the worst.
Come prize giving time we were met by a late sunny spring afternoon which according to those who attended rounded off an absolutely superb day.
We would like to thank all those who attended for making it a great day out and well done to all the winners.. and losers. A big thank you must also go to the team at the West Midlands Shooting Ground who made the day what it was.
Thank you also to NIG and Farmweb for supporting what was an incredibly fun day.
